Oil for AEL?

Anybody have any recommendation for what oil I should put in my AEL A6 quattro?

is fully synthetic ok? or just semi?

Any opinions on grade choice? Obviosly I could just follow the manual, but i'm sure there must be better oils out there today than 15 years ago.

I use Platinum in mine. Thats what Audi would use if you took it to them for a service.
