A6 AEL quattro exhaust question

Just had the exhaust welded up on my 1996 A6 (C4) quattro Avant. One of the metal arms that hold on to the V section at the front had broke. The other side was welded up not so long ago too.

Thankfully only cost me a £10er so was well pleased with that and its now nice and quiet again.

While I was under the car though I noticed at the far back there are 3 boxes in the exhaust? Is one of them a CAT? Because I thought my car had already been de-catted?

The 2 cats on the AEL quattro are at the front but iirc there are 3 silencers after- ive got a non quattro and only run with the rear box, sounds nice. turbo acts as a silencer. so not too loud.

I run with just a back box.3" back. Not to loud but helps performance and gets rid of some weight.

where the hell did you get that £10er exhaust? cant find one nowadays. or that £10er was just the welding up repair for your exhaust parts? mine is not looking so good so im thinking of replacing it. maybe i'll just post some pics to get opinions.lol merry xmas guys!

I had a AEL tdi quattro and just fitted a non quattro single downpipe froma AAT, mated it up to the original system, I also took out the centre boxes, all helped performance a bit, but wasn't that loud, actually sounded quite nice for a derv!

What boost are you running in the videos?

I found the removal of the rear boxes the biggest gain.

Not sure on boost, I think about a bar. I just bought a chipset of audifans.net. ALso had the 151bhp Transporter nozzels fitted. Went ok, nothing special. Sold it a while ago now.

Need to increase the boost a little on my ael. Get it on the rolling road in the new year with the bigger nozzles. See what I can push.

Have a chip in there but running low boost on a k24.

yea, was just a £10er to weld the hole ( just needed one of the metal arm's re attaching ).

I own a C4 AEL quattro, and... an OEM exhaust system from S6.

Does it worth anything (if possible) to fit the AAN exhaust system under AEL chassis?

Downpipe... forget, does not match.
Cats... any difference between diesel to petrol? Sorry, never tuned a diesel. I don't know.
All the rest... any worth in performance or just sound?
