  • Low boost/power since manifold removal..

    Hi all,

A couple of weeks ago I removed the inlet and did the EGR cleanout. A couple of times since the car has lost power and boosts to only 0.5 bar at full throttle. Acceleration is slow and the revs just don't want to rise. If you flick the ignition off and re-start the engine all is fine.

I presume I've messed something up (In particular I wasn't sure which way the inlet manifold gasket went on, so that could be wrong) but all hoses do seem to be connected correctly.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks, Max

    Are the hoses tightly secured?

Did you check the inlet manifold for leaks after removing it? That could be your problem..

I will double check the hoses, but how do you test the manifold? I was thinking smoke machine but I don't have one!

Carb cleaner round the possible leak areas I suppose..at least that's what I've heard is usually done apart from a smoke machine being used. Double check before though

Could just be a hose issue though so those are your first thing to check

        Good luck!
