A6 diesel tank welding.

Just been cleaning the rust from the n/s part of my A6 tank. Now it's leaking! Great. Sod taking it out!
Any tips on welding it? Thinking drain it then fill with argon.

I had one braized a year or so back, worked a treat and only £40 vs £250 for a full recon (lifetime guarantee though)

Its not that bad a job to take off btw

It's gone through above the seam ledge. Above the exhaust middle boxes. Front most part of the tank.

James, what's got to come off to get it out?

Diff and exhaust off, prop dropped down.

That doesn't sound TOO bad, I'm planning on fitting that diff I got off you at ADi over Christmas so I'll have a good look at mine then.

Mine was leaking and used fuel tank liquid metal. Been ok since touch wood. Quatrro tank
Metal. 2wd is plastic.
