6speed - 1z?

Is it possible to get a 6 speed gearbox that's mates up to the 1Z TDI?
On motorways my 80 tdi feels like it would benifit from an extra gear to make cruising a bit less of a mission.
Anyone ever done it successfully?

Any 01E would fit to engine.

01E has a multifit bellhousing so should bolt on fine, you then need the usual 6 speed swap stuff.

Not too much easier. I've looked into this, if your putting it into an 80 then its more hassle than its worth because the gear ratio is probably the same or only fractionally taller on any 6speed you can get your hands on, aswell as this there's modifying to be done to make it mount up

Better option and possibly cheaper would be just to get a taller 5th gear, like one of these http://www.darksidedevelopments.co.u...gear-sets.html
