  • AAT and AEL injection pumps

Hi. Is there any difference between AAT and AEL injection pumps? Bosch part number is the same but the Audi code termination is different. Are they interchangeable? Thanks

        046130108D was dropped from Audi's inventory 21/01/1996 in favour of a 046130108F

        046130108F was dropped from Audi's inventory 30/06/1992 in favour of a 046130108G

046130108GX would be the remanufactured version of the 046130108G

That circular dropping before it existed stuff can do your head in. looks like they are all basically the same. Confirm the cross-overs with a Bosch supplier

how much are they? And do they cause a noticeable 'rattle' noise at low RPM when worn?

Not sure about the rattle, is it giving any other problems?

intermittent excessive smoke when started from cold. Somedays almost nothing, other days a thick fog. lol

performance seems a lot smoother when properly warm..

somedays this rattle is hardly audible , other days its really noisy (esp when very cold days) .

there is a "rattle" at all 2,5 tdi I5 but it's not the pump.. it's the lifter for the vacuum pump.. i had a 2.5 tdi with 613.000km on it and there was never a problem with the pump (except a small leaking) and they all smoke.. aat, ael, ael in volvo.. doesnt matter if low or high mileage..

That is incorrect. Most of these cars smoke due to incorrect aftermarket nozzles being fitted, due to a mistake made in a big name catalogue.
They do not smoke whatsoever on original software, original nozzles and correct pump adjustment.

sure.. a perfect engine doesnt smoke.. but 90% of the cars have a stuffed cat, a completely dirty intake manifold etc.. so they smoke.. mine didn't because i cleaned everything and drove 90% on the autobahn..

Lists T5 Transporter nozzles as a replacement, but they have different injection angle and inject a different amount of fuel.
