  • Brake Bomb re-gas group buy

    Hi,

I've managed to locate a company who are capable and experienced in re-gassing Audi Brake bombs. I'm currently trying to negotiate a special price for the forum for getting this done, however it'd be good to guage potential interest to see if we can nail a great price for this.

I'll post more info as I get it back....in the meantime let me know if you'd be interested!

    Cheers
    David

can someone explain to me why is the regassing needed?

is it so you just don throw away the bomb after it is dead?

          1) Over time the high pressure reserve is leaked away (about 6-7 years)
          2) if you loose power this reserve gives u emergency stopping and power steering assistance when u most need it
          3) They are really expensive to replace new £250+ - regassing is a much cheaper option

For example; if you have a dead bomb and your power steering belt snaps/falls off, you have no power assisted steering or assisted brakes. BTDT.

              Bomb re-gas

              I'm interested.

Don't we need a loan bomb though. The reason I've never got mine re-gassed is having to be without it (and it's not quite dead yet). My car's an everyday driver. I guess the bomb's needed to drive at all. Does the club need a loaner that could be supplied to anyone for a minimal fee to cover costs whilst their bombs get refurbished? Should this cost be split among the group buy?

              Am just posing questions.

I have a donor unit which can be used so no need to find another, unless mines a scrapper

Hopefully we can get a better price than £75 but who knows....working on it
