Right then... As I will be replacing almost all my hoses (boost and water) and my rad; what else should I change? From what I have found on the forums I have made a list below but please advise or add to it if I have missed any thing off:

Hose clips - Forge Motorsport do some nice ones LINK
    WGFV - www.vagparts.com
    TBV - www.vagparts.com
    Thermostat (?) - www.vagparts.com
    Oil Temp senders (?) - ?
Small boost hose that runs along the metal tube (?) - Merlin motorsport/Forge Motorsport (?)

To add parts I replaced when I did thermostat...

MFTS (multi function temp sensor) £35~

This is very useful to assist ordering parts for the thermostat (I bought mine from GSF and it comes with seal in the kit)

The small turbo hose you refer to is for coolant iirc....I just replaced it with stock part but you could always remove it and match some up at your local good hose suppliers....

      WGFV = yes vagparts £35~

      S3 dumpvalve = Vagparts again £24~

      MFTS = vagparts £30~

Temp switch for afterrun pump - Vagparts (this is the switch next to the MFTS and I replaced it while I was in there!)

you missed the most important part ... the PCV, if that's knackered then it can take out your MAF, when I changed my hoses they were all full of oil thanks to a knackered PCV, even cleaning the MAF didn't cure, replacement waiting to be fitted.

Also worth doing the flame trap, it gets full of crap and can block the PCV system and cause a plug to blown out !!!

Deffo do the thermostat and PCV when you have the room to get at them... The MFTS and thermoswitch for th afterrun pump are less important but I would agree it is best practice to replace while you are there. Keep th old ones as spares just in case.

What I do recommend you also change along with the new coolant hoses is the expansion tank... Sounds a bit silly maybe but mine was an orrible discoloured thing after 10+ years of driving. A shiny new expansion tank just refreshed the look of the engine bay !

PS - the water rail and link hoses are included in the coolant kit from Samco

You might want to change the smaller boost hoses as well, the ones connected to the WGFV and from the DV to the rear of the engine.

Worth doing plus it makes the engine bay look pretty good as well.

Merlin motorsport is the place to get it from. I think you need 3mm or 4mm hose.

I don't know if someone can confirm this? I'm sure its actually 4mm hose not 100% sure

              It's 4mm hose.

Don't forget Samco also sell their own range of quality hose clips with rolled egdes from their weebsite.

I'm not 100% sure i brought 3 metres and that was plenty. You probably only need 2 metres

Not to sure on the hose clips there are quite a few, the problem you'll find is that most of them are different sizes best to try and buy a mixed set tho this can be expensive if going for some quality clips.

For the turbo hoses I count about 14 (Including smaller ones on WGFV)

You really want to upgrade all the clips as they are probably pretty knackered especially the little hose clips connected to the WGFV as mine practically fell to pieces in my hands they were that rusty

Does anyone know where to buy jubliee clips for the 4mm vacuum hose? I presume they don't actually make them and you have to use screw clips similar to whats used on s2's at the moment.

Just a quick one... does this small connecter hose come with the turbo kit? I guess it doesn't, so if anyone could tell me the diameter and length needed would be great (my car is 50 miles away at the moment, and I want to order some bits...!)
                    Anyone any ideas?
                    Thanks,
                    Chris

The hose in the picture is included in the group buy.

There are 6 hoses in total

                        excellent, thanks for that....!
                        Last question... promise...
                        I have read (by Dan b, I think )
that it is worth getting some 8mm Samco to complete the job, this is for the WGFV? anyway, do you know how much is required, and again, how many clips for this (I know if it is one piece, clearly just the 2 clips required...!)
                        Thanks

Yep you will require 8mm samco hose for the wgfv, sorry think in my previous posts I said you would require 4mm but it is actually 8mm. You will only need 1 metre of it.

You will require 4 jubliee clips for this. There are two hoses which you will need to cut from the 1 metre hose, these two hoses go from the wgfv to the turbo and to the wastegate. Once you start removing all the hoses you will knoe what I mean.

                          I hope this helps,
