    Hi Clive,

Do you still have any left? Just decided to fit a gauge and I really like the look of these.

    Cheers

Had a look at fitting the gauge today, has any found that the gauge hits the directional air thingie in the centre console. Well not actually the gauge its the adapter I have brought which seems really long?

Where did everyone else get there adapters from?

Did any of you need to make amendments to the air direction thingie behind the gauge in order for it to fit?

          Cheers Ian

I haven't fitted mine yet, but I did wonder about that - I would guess the easiest solution is to cut a small piece out of the flap behind the vent so that the gauge (and any adapter you might attach) doesn't obstruct the flap.

Yeah I think your right, think some modding is needed, shouldn't be to difficult tho.

Just fitted mine, its a VDO one and the brass fitting does stick out quite a bit. I ended up just taking out the flap altogether. Might try and modify the flap but it fouls the bulb holder to in situ so would need quite a bit of hacking to make it work. I have found if you leave it out the demister still works fine you just can't isolate the centre vents Form over function

Also i put a little rocker switch in line on the ilumination feed so i can turn it off at night. Just thought it might be handy on the motor way as it is sort of in the line of sight and it will maintain the stealth cabin in town too

Nice job I like the idea with the switch,

I will probably do the same and remove the flap, seems far easier for the time being.

My VDO gauge just fits with the flap.

I found it was the mounting bracket that fouled against the vent flap so what i've done is left the 'U' shaped mounting bracket off so the lugs and bulb holder fit over the flap and the pressure adapter/vacumn hose fits under.

I'll get a pic and try to explain it better...

                    Here we go..

Heres a pic from taking a vent out, i did'nt need to cut anything but my vents open all the time which tbh does'nt bother me

                    Anyway:

And heres how it looks fitted:

So basically with or without the flap, the vent is open all the time. Only reason i took it off is cos it unclips easily and i might have a go at modding it to work with the gauge in place.

Thanks to all those who have confirmed safe receipt

If anyone hasn't received theirs by now, then I'm sure you would have shouted, but please let me know if there's a problem - I've kept all the Recorded Delivery receipts.

                        Cheers,

I'm quite happy to do this, as this one went so smoothly, but you really need at least 10 of you (or 10 pods) to make it worthwhile.

Subject to exchange rate fluctuations, a batch of 10 would work out at around £25/unit delivered, and reduces to about £20/unit for 20.

                            Hi Clive,

Sorry for not posting earlier...been a busy time at work

i received my gauge pod recently thanks...looks very nice.....good job on the GB

I have however struggled to fit it as it is VERY tight in between the 2 central plastic uprights. Also, how are you guys holding it in place?.....just wedging it in?
