single and triple gauge holders - potential GB

As part of the never-ending VDO boost gauge group buy (we are now on the 3rd GB), I was asked by a couple of folks about Gerd's gauge holders (Sorry CliveH )

Gerd offers both a single holder and a triple holder, both for €50. The reason they are the same price is that they both replace all three vents and are therefore the same size, however the single holder has vertical slots rather than gauge holes in the 2 outer positions and a single hole in the central position.

As you can see from the picture 2nd from right in the link above, the holders comprise 2 pieces of aluminium, one being the holder and one being a face plate. The face plate is painted black, although the one I have seen was plain ally, so I will need to confirm what we will get

No, all three vents still allow air to pass through, albeit at a reduced volume. When using the centre only version, the 2 outer sections allow considerably more air through, although probably still a little less than a normal vent.

The main difference is of course that whilst you can keep the air flow, you loose the ability to direct the air flow.

yep. sure looks like an elegant solution i remember seeing it way back, at least the gauges are visible on the move. Single centre vent on for me at the mo though
