    B4 Carbon Fibre Bonnets

    Hi guys,

Got speaking to the chaps at performance trim and was quite impressed with their products for the golfs. All their bonnets are £395, however its an extra £1000 to make a mould if i want one for my car (b4 hood).

After a little chat they agreed to cover the cost if we can get a group buy of 10 orders, possibly only £100 deposit to start but that remains to be finalised.

They do an OEM option with fibre glass backing - it closes on factory fittings.
There's also a Honeycomb backed option which is a touch lighter but bonnet pins are required for this.

Im not sure how much our bonnets weigh, but here are examples of the golf items for weight saving comparison:
    OEM Golf mk2 bonnet 14kg
Carbon with fibre glass backing 6kg (factory closing mechanism) -£395
Carbon with honeycomb backing 5kg (bonnet pins) -£395

Check them out at performance-trim.co.uk Any questions and i'm happy to find out..
Can we get a head count of how many are seriously interested please?

    Cheers
    -Sadiq

Lovely idea but no funds at the mo. I'd have mine in bare carbon as on a white car it'd look

I'm sure this is a quality buy but all that £££ for an approximate 9kg loss.... I know an S2 is nose heavy but....

Think it might be a bigger saving for the larger S2 bonnet ...and I must admit this is tempting, even for me with sod all income at the moment! And I'd probably say to hell with the bonnet catches, give me all the saving I can have.
