    I5 Billet block

I am working on an I5 billet block.

I need six orders to start the project.

Price for one unit would be 6000 eur (incl 24% VAT, that won't be charged if shipped outside EU), if made racing style, iow not looking precisely like Audi original block.

Or if needed, like FIA may require in certain cases of historic racing, it is possible to make block to look like original ones. Obviously it will not be EXACTLY stock looking, but pretty close none the less.

Precise copy would of course be tempting, but it would be a sacrifice in terms of strength and price. OE replica would be another 1500eur each, and if gone this route, we need six orders of replicas OR six orders of racing units.

Obviously weight saving is significant, actual weight is hard to tell yet, as project is has not even started yet, but even the racing style one would be a lot lighter than iron ones.

Also, racing style block, the people I work with say, it will hold 2000hp, if needed.

Replica one, will just replace original, and will not be significantly stronger or weaker.

Terms would be, we need to gather the group buy and collect deposit of 50% of price. After that we need 3-4 months to finish the batch. Rest of the money would be charged before dispatch of the product. Deposit is non refundable, if You decide to cancel.

So, open debate? Is there any interest for such a product on the forum on these prices and terms?

Finally got a proper answer from FIA representative, and it looks like billet block won't be allowed in Historic racing, no matter how close to original the appearance would be. They would require block to be cast. Fugktards.

So, any interest in bulletproof yet lightweight billet I5 block for 20v? Can be done for stroker, too, at same cost.
