THANKS for the email Carlos

I have paid lots of money for these and plenty others including schematic binders for the 80/90/S2 from Audi's official erwin site - it is a fantastic resource but you need to be careful what you are buying, what you need and what you can afford.
I spent a lot on these for myself and to allow me to share info with the forum, but please don't ask for copies. I have all of this on paper and it would be an enormous task of scanning them.
The electrical schematics for the S2 variants are particularly bad as they are scattered over five large binders depending on model year and variant. I have three so far and hope one day to distill this into a set of schematics that is just for the S2.
Don't hold your breath for that either - this is a long term project !

Not to be picky (okay, to be picky) but in the beginning there was the RR (well after the Sport Q engine anyway). The RR begat the 3B and the 3B begat the AAN and the AAN begat the ABY and the ABY begat the ADU.
Chronologically, speaking of course.
RR = 1990-1 MY UrQ
3B = 1990-2 MY S2
AAN = 1992-4 MY UrS4; 95-97 MY UrS6
ABY = 1993-6(?) MY S2
ADU = 1994-95 MY RS2

Well, the order is right, but 3B was MY91-93 and ADU was MY94-96. MY93 was a crossover year for the S2 - you'll find some early 'P' VINs on a 3B engine and the later ones (from October 1992 onwards) with the ABY.
That cronoloical order also explains why early AANs have the hall sensor in the dissy housing and later ones have it at the camshaft sprocket.
I am even more dull - I can track an engine code to the month it was built !
