headlight problem

hi all,seem to have a major problem!!Was painting the inside of some Headlamps off a ABY S2 but somehow managed to peel off the reflective material on the inside of the lamp!The stuff that reflects the light so im F*****?Or can i be helped?

No way. that is not paint, it is alluminium. You are screwd (if you cant find someone that can re-do it)

You can get it redone some vacuum process cost about £80 thefibreguy has a thread on here after detailing it and the company name.

the reflectors in the headlights in my 80q were ****ed and it was up for a mot the next day! so i took the glass of both headlights smeared a thin layer of silicone on to the reflector and smoothed some tin-foil on to it! worked a treat!

Relax mate, all is not lost.
I did this a few weeks ago. Yes the silver paint is very annoying.
What I did (It's not a botch) is I removed as much of the silver as possible so you get down to the yellow stuff.

Then I got a good primer (I used a Holt's grey primer and VERY LIGHTLY apply a few coats). Make sure you take your time to mask EVERYTHING!!

I did about 3 coats of primer and then found a very shiny paint form of all places... B&Q It comes in a little stumpy can.

Again, very light coats of silver paint gave me a good finish.

I will admit that it it's not mirror shiny like the originals but I've been out plenty of times now in the pitch black and have had can honestly say that I have had no problem with the brightness of the lights.

As for getting throught the MOT I don't know yet but I don't see a problem.

If it does fail then I'm going to have to resort to getting them properley done but try this but take your time!

My headlights are very weak...due mainly to the mirror coating having faded

Where is a good place to get headlights please 4wheel drifter??

Ive heard GSF price is reasonable but I've not tried them as yet...

Jesus, that took some finding. The contact was never posted on the forum as far as I remember by "the fibreguy" for the re-metalising of the headlight reflectors. But I do remember PM'ing him to ask.
Just gone back through a years worth of saved PM's and the place is;

Just took the headlight lense of my projectors to clean the mould out and those blinkin clips are leathal ! One pingied off left a dent in the ceiling scared the cat who jumped up on the table nearly knocking the other light on the floor ! Close call !
Be carefull out there, the springs should be approached with extreme caution !
