Since owning my S2 I have been checking out what company's or persons can help in maintaining, servicing and tuning the beloved S2. So far I have made my following opinions:
- 034Motorsport: New developments still made, not too expensive, great site and e-mail service, parts of the shelf
- VS Motors: About the same as 034 maybe a bit more expensive (responsible for a lot of top machinery on Gatebil shows in Norway)
- KRB Trading: About the same as VS Motors (one of the biggest tuning and turbo suppliers in Norway and owns a pretty powerfull 5 cil himself too!)
- Dahlback: Nice stuff but seems very expensive and despite that can it beat VS or KRB?
- MTM: About the same as Dahlback? And is it oldschool nowadays?
- ABT: No experience with them, can they deliver wild conversions? New technologies? I think they are interesting for the mild and newer Audi only...
- Hohenester: Seems to offer serious conversions for serious money. But like MTM has it become oldschool? They do take it serious indeed, they will change conrods if mileage is a tad too high!
- High Octane (Jeffer/Jeffry): New in the scene, very close to home, so have to check that out!
- X-Treme Tuning: Even closer to home, have to check that out, too!
- V-Max: Very hard to reach indeed (as ever), no info yet about their conversions. With there Opels they are like 034 is with their Audi's. But if this is the same with their Audi offerings?
- MRC/Minhea: Minhea seem to have become the Ahmed Bayoo for Audi's: Mapman! But I can't find any hardware on MRC site...
- Oettinger: Not found out yet...
- Wetterauer: Not found out yet...
- Nothelle: Not found out yet...
- Ahmed Bayoo: Could do the mapping as well I think...
- Julian Godfrey: I think he was involved in the Tommy Kristoffersson project, I think he has the knowledge to build a cracking engine!
- Lehmann: Builds almost every VAG competion engine, could do the trick but is probably not interested in this sort of work
I think the most likely people for me are: 034, KRB or VS. They are one of the few still trying to make everything better than ever. Unfortunately they are all very far from Holland... Especially when real problems occur!
Tell me what is your view?
