I've had the car up and running a while now with these rods, and it feels very smooth.
But I guess it depends on the rods you get and theire balancing.
Actually both my oem rods and these new rods were in sets witn no more than 1g +/-.
If I had a quite a lot of weight difference here I would certainly consider pulling the engine and getting it balanced.

They're called Panchi. Never heard of them before, but I got them for a good price on the bay.

            Efini,

still going smooth (like in that norwegian tv commercial SMOOTH!) with the rod change?
Got any more views about changing them like you did?

I'm seriusly thinking about doing the same in a short time.

oh, and what paint did you use on the head and IM?

            cheers,

              re Lehmann

Yes he makes changes the oil gallery and also the waterways
My engines if required and cost approved will have similar mods.

Do not forget that the Lehmann engines had a zero balancing factor as the used racing cranks as implied, not balanced the same way as a road engine.

Oh man!! Sorry about the late reply.. Been abroad for a while.

The rods still seem to be happy and have not complained once.
If I just could get the engine to hold idle it would probably be very smooth. Seems like it is less happy with the GT3071 than with the rods.

I really can't remember what paint I used.. Sorry. Think it was a temp-resistant engine paint. I guess it won't be very durable but it's still doing the job.

It took me about 7 months..

With all the parts and tools at hand I guess one cold do it in about two days now.
It's really just a matter of removing the head and the sump.

Check the posts by Corey, the MAF needs to be moved to the pressure side of the air intake and the car remapping to stop this from happening.

                        thanks for the reply Efini!

I did not choose to do this as i want to go over the whole engine when its almost completly disassembled.

How is it with this maf solution? Is this required on every gt turbo change?

Only if you experience the stalling.

In saying that Quattronics will now move the MAF by default on their installs.
