I have a 1991 Audi coupe. The driver door hinge detent stops do not hold the door open anymore. I wish to swap left and right lower hinges so that I regain the door detents.
However, the doors are extremely heavy. What are some of strategies to hold up the doors up and steady while the hinges are being swapped?
I think its been said already but all you need if not taking the door right off is to support under door with trolley jack and then take hinge off. It can be useful to have but not essential to use a helper to stop the door twisting the top hinge when support from bottom hinge is gone.
