Low tachometer reading on a 1991 7A Coupe quattro

I have a 1991 Coupe with the 7A engine. I had intermittent cut out of tachometer and trip computer that just kept getting worse.

I replaced the circuit board and everything is back except that my tachometer reads 500-750 rpms low. Is there an adjustment on the tach unit or something else to adjust it back to an accurate read?

Are you sure it's reading low and you just didn't affix the tach needle in the wrong position?

I my experience it is either "all or nothing" with these instruments.

is the tach from a B4 (which was only V6 in the usa) ?
