Have you got ellipsoids? I'm assuming you do as you've got an RS2.
If so there is a lever inside the headlamp to convert them to euro beams. You need to take off the main cover on the back and feel around at the bottom underneath the reflector for a plastic tab. Slide this across and the beam will be cut off correctly for dring on the wrong side of the road. It can be a right pain to do as it is a tight squeeze especially if you've got a HID kit fitted.

Ha...understatment of the year! The first time I tried mine they would simply not move so I assumed I was trying to move thye wrong lever so dropped the headlight out to check. Turns out they were just damn stiff as they had probably never been moved. Once they have moved a few times they are much easier to do with the finger tips.
Funny story on this subject.......
I travel to Belgium a lot and occasionally take the S2 for a blast. I got into the habit of changing the lights over as soon as I parked up in the chunnel train, however on my last trip, I was running late and had pushed the speed limits just a tad down the M20 and when I arrived, was ushered straight onto the train.... so everything was good and hot. I parked up and for the first time was the front car in my carriage, so I was up against the doors.
Out I jump with a screwdriver in hand and proceed to remove the rad cowling to access the passenger headlight (the drivers side was too hot to do first. Whilst reaching in to move the lever over (therefore up to my shoulder in engine bay) I was pounced on by 3 screaming train employee types, yelling at me to close my bonnet NOW!
I carefully explained that I had no plans to close my bonnet as it would crush the various pieces of trip which were scattered around and asked what their problem was. They continued to jump around and generally act in an overly excited manner, but one of them then pointed at the ceiling......directly above my turbo (which was ticking as it stopped glowing red hot), at the smoke and heat sensor
Turns out the second I lifted my bonnet, an updaft from the turbo sent the cabin heat sensor into panic mode and the train was instantly put into DEFCON 1 mode as there was quite obviously a HUGE fire...oops
I thought it was quite funny, but they seemed to miss the point....also, none of them were interested in just how fast I had driven to get my turbo quite that hot

As I've never done this before - can anyone please advise how to correctly set-up headlights for driving on the continent?
Also, as part of the prep for the 'Ring trip next week, what should I be taking along in terms of tool kit etc - thoughts appreciated!
cheers
Just bring a Phillips screwdriver with you (the one in your original toolkit will do) to adjust your headlights. I find with A/C it's easiest to take the headlight out to flick the lever. It's only 5 screws. I usually do this in the queue for the ferry, or at the first services in Belguim.
