    Trolley Jack maintenance

My trolley jack has weeped oil ever since I've had it and it's been no more of a problem than just a few drops of oil every so often on the garage floor.
However, now the lifting range is reducing and I want to top it up. I have bought some jack oil but I am really struggling to top the thing up.

The trolley jack I have is this one

I've tried filling it with the saddle up high and completely down and it will only let me fill a tiny little bit. I need help as I need the jack to get my car out!!!

on some jacks part of the reservoir is in the ram . so jack it up and let it down a couple times then you may be able to put a bit more in and just keep doing that until there is enought oil in there. if oil come out of the filler when the jack is down you have put to much in. also putting thicker oil in can some times exstend the life of a dieing jack.
never set your expectations to high that way you are never disapointed

I have the same jack and exactly the same issue, I tried topping it up but could only get a minute amount of oil into it.

Machine Mart have a really helpful spares dept.
They will email you a component drawing and you can order new seals etc.
Dirt cheap too - I was really impressed with their spares service, not what you would expect when you think that most of the stuff they sell is made in the far east.....
