3b or ABY

Hi guys,i'm new to the forum and i intend to buy a S2.Are there major differences between the two(3b/aby)?Which one is most reliable/tunable.In a few words which one should i buy?Thanks in advance,Ovi from Romania

If you are going to tune it get an ABY, better waterpump setup, 6 speed box and coilpack ignition.

If your just going to run stock then the 3B is great value for money

3B is lighter but the gearboxes are a little weaker in 1st. 3B doesn't have the overboost function as standard but a remap will soon sort that out.

I don't intend to keep the car standard but an ABY model costs twice as much as a 3B.
Regarding the gear boxes i believe they are bolt-ons from ABY to 3B,right?
What about the traction?Is it the same setup on both models?

The best S2 is a mix of 3B and ABY. The ABY has the coilpacks but 3Bs can be converted. You either buy an ABY and retro-fit the good 3B stuff or you buy a 3B and fit lots of ABY stuff to it, some go as far as fitting almost complete ABY or AAN engines, injection etc. Either way you'll end up with a sweet car but buying an ABY in the first place is a bit of an easier way of doing things but you pay for it. Plenty of high power 3Bs out there though and plenty of urS4s to get bits off to convert athings a bit cheaper. ABY box is bolt on but lots of other little bits are required, search for a thread by newsh, it details most things required, ABY prop & complete gear linkage are the main things. There are other threads too.
