Avant rear window trim: silver top corners colour coded

    A nice simple mod!
They stuck out like a sore thumb on my car, and everytime I see pics of Avants I notice them, so I had a go at putting them back to the original black.

No doubt it will rub off again eventually, but in the meantime it looks much better, and is only a 30 mins maximum job to top them up again at a later date.

As you can see in the last pic, it blends in rather nicely again!

Rub it down with 1500 grit paper, as it was so smooth.
Masked off and used a bed sheet with a small hole in the middle to catch any overspray (keyhole surgery style LOL)
I found it best to balance the tailgate half open, this made it easier to spray around the edges.
Then sprayed it with Plastikote Super Matt black, so it ends up with a matt finish to help blend in with the rubber trim.

I hadn't noticed these before until you mentioned it. They look so much better with a matt black finish. Nice work .

I see them every time I walk towards it to drive it

Plus, attention to detail is what make a car even nicer

Really must do these on mine. They aren't quite as shiny as yours had got, but they're on their way.
Nice idea with the blanket I'll definately use that
