Perfect, Guy quoted me a week or two (other work depending) turn around for one to be made. Guess I'd need it for two weeks max..

                  Have you nicked them ?

You would like two of them, the third one is not much use to you though.

If anyone can hook up a supplier for a 3" DP for a 3B then I'm game... still haven't had a week-day off that's convenient for Longlife to make me one up! I'm sure if a few of these are made up at the same time it should cut costs??

                      Cheers

Isn't the 3B downpipe nigh on the same? I mean it's the same at the turbo end, what about where it bends down past the engine? I know the pipe configuration is different underneath, but then that doesn't matter as the custom one will be similar to the Marco version. Guess what I'm getting at is, can one downpipe not be used for both the 3B and ABY/ADU? Now's the time to work this out.
When I spoke to him last time, he said it wasn't a problem leaving the wastegate flange and pipe off, so that anyone wanting to use a seperate wastegate exhaust could do so, he would supply the flange with the downpipe. Also that extra threaded welded nut for an EGT probe wouldn't be a problem and you could choose which size you wanted.
I'll be phoning him tomorrow to tell him Bry has kindly loaned an ADU downpipe for use in making a template and to get prices on quantities and timescales etc.
I personally won't be having one as I'm not planning on modding the engine, but am happy to try and sort it if I can.

Ok, rang the guy. He wants to obviously see the ADU downpipe before giving prices etc, so I'll be taking that to him next tuesday after I have finished work (shows this weekend and bank hol monday) Thanks again to Bry (I promise I won't cut it up with an angle grinder )
Be good if you can can come to some conclusion over the 3B downpipe issue I mentioned above (if it is an issue) and he also wants to know how the pipe wants finishing at the bottom. Once this is sorted he will be making one jig only. You specify if you need the wastegate pipe as standard setup, or leave it off all together and also what size threaded nut needed for EGT probe etc.
Will be in 76mm (3") SS (304) and is 2mm thick.

You've got three days to discuss.

                              1) leave the end unflanged as it would be a pain to remove the flange if people intend to have a flex pipe in the exhaust system.

                              2) We need the M12x1.5mm stainless nut for tuning.

(words of Doug_RS2) "Get an M12x1.5 stainless nut, drill a hole and bolt the nut to the downpipe (this keeps it in the correct position and reduces any warping with heat). Make sure the drilled hole is big enough not to damage a threaded bolt."

                              3) Can he make the wastepipe as a seperate item that can be welded on as required?, this makes it generic for people who want a seperate wastegate pipe although i'd want the pipe on.

i'd be interested possibly in this - would it be possible to run a blanking plate on the downpipe and have a separate w/gate pipe and have the little pipe and a gasket available so when u want to you can return to dumping the w/gate into the downpipe...still following???
