Possible suspension / driveline combo's from different Audi's

I am investigating for some time the options I would have when I want to mix different suspension and driveline parts coming from a mix of Audi models. I am about to buy a typ 85 CQ and want to know my options. Initially I would like to use some CQ suspension parts, buy a UrQ 5speed Torsen 016 tranny, but also would like to use 5x112 hubs......... A Frankenstein solution

Mosly it starts with a choice for a gearbox and from there on it trickles down to diffs, axles, hubs and strut options. I will not leave out the complete S2 option I would have to bolt under the type 85 coupe, as this is in my view the ultimate upgrade package, but also involves scraping more parts.
A lot of info regarding the mix of components is scattered around this forum, the web and some experienced people I have on MSN, but not much I can remember TBH

So I will try a first attempt and please feel free to copy and add your mix to the following list or add items that really matter that I left out so we can make it more complete:

    Option 1
    • Gearbox 016 UrQ 5 speed Torsen diff code ASX
    • Linkage CQ
    • Rear Diff UrQ 108mm flanges / 3.89 gearing ratio
    • Front Subframe CQ
    • Rear Subframe CQ
    • Front Driveshafts CQ
    • Rear Driveshafts CQ
    • Front Struts CQ
    • Rear Struts CQ
    • Front arms cast CQ
    • Rear arms cast CQ
    • Hubs CQ 4x108mm
    • Propshaft CQ

    Option 2
    • Gearbox 01E ABY 6 speed Torsen diff code CGR
    • Linkage modified ABY
    • Rear Diff ABY 100mm flanges / 4.11 gearing ratio
    • Front Subframe ABY
    • Rear Subframe ABY
    • Front Driveshafts ABY
    • Rear Driveshafts ABY
    • Front Struts ABY
    • Rear Struts ABY
    • Front arms cast or pressed ABY
    • Rear arms pressed ABY
    • Hubs ABY 5x112mm
    • Propshaft ABY

Anything else that can be mixed to use a 016 UrQ tranny and UrQ rear diff with e.g. audi 200 drive shafts in order to use 5x112mm hubs? Please add if you know what combo's work

    Cheers!

ball joints on the B4 front make the wheel stand more towards in the wheel arches.

What i am going to do on my car is:

90q (same as CQ and facelift urq, at least in the back) struts
      90q subframes
      urq hubs (for 5*112 conversion)
      urq front drive shafts
90q rear drive shafts (same as urq)

not yet sure on the gearbox choice, i have an urq gearbox/diff (3.89, but also a 90q (4.11).

Gearing of the urq box is a bit better when going turbocharged, but exchanging the 016 for a 01E 4.11 box, will give you six speed, and better gearing, and 4.11 as well (ideal for torsen conversion in the rear)

Maarten, do you need UrQ front drive shaft in order to use UrQ hubs? I presume UrQ 5x112mm hubs are differernt from S2 hubs?

Yup you need urq front drive shafts, or an extra set of rear CQ/90q/Urq drive shafts, and exchange left/right. This is if you're using a 016 box, when using a 01E 6-speed, you'll be needing 2 rear right drive shafts from cq/90q/urq, or 2 front lefts from the urq

and i don't know if they are different opposed to s2 hubs, i'd have to check, don't have s2 hubs
