My S2 has been put away since october put on axlestands. I haven´t started it since then and i took the batery out in december i think for a recharge. Will it suffer from beeing powerless? I suppose the software i.e chips cant loose there memory or so? It is stored warm and dry, hell it has a better living standard than me
Mine sits in the garage from October to March normally and is only fed 12v. It does get the occasional start roll, up to temp and them put away again and I have have not problem for the last few years doing this.
Good luck.
Cheers,
Steve.

Mine has had no power at all, that is what worried me, And as it´s on axlestands and there are two appartment´s with balconys direct above my garage i don´t think they will be to impressed with fumes going into there homes if i was to start it up and let it get warm... Any pics of your car fatty?
I remember reading that that if you are putting a car into long term storage it is best to change the oil and coolant first and *not* to start the engine every once in a while to bring the engine up to temp as this just creates condensation inside the engine which leads to internal corrosion.

I would imagine that is if you don't get it fully "hot". I run mine until the fan kick in so it is like any other long journey.

If you can't "roll" it out then you can't start it up as you say. I am sure it will be fine as it is. It may be worth changing the oil if it not new etc...
What sort of picture would you like, I have hundreds!
Cheers,
Steve.

Just for reference, here are the direct quotes I was referring to from two sources on the subject of long term storage. Interesting point re axles stands too, it is better to inflate the tyres to their maximum rated pressures instead.

Storage Myths
There are several common myths associated with car storage that need to be addressed.
The first is that it is somehow a good thing to start the car every week or so, then either let it idle for a while or go for a drive around the block. This is in fact one of the worst things you can possibly do to an engine. The main reason is that unless the engine reaches full operating temperature, moisture (a natural byproduct of combustion and temperature changes) and acids (combustion byproducts) will build up inside the engine and contaminate the oil and metal surfaces. Obviously this is not good for metal components and results in increased wear and shorter life. This effect is easily seen by looking inside the oil filler tube of any rotary that was used primarily for short trips as there will be a clearly visible rust scale that has formed. During normal driving the engine generally heats up enough to vaporize these nasties which are then drawn off by the purge system and burned by the engine.
The second myth is that a car should be stored on jackstands to keep the weight off the suspension. The theory is that keeping weight off of the suspension will somehow preserve it's full motion. In fact, removing the weight of the car will pull the suspension out of it's normal resting place and put it in an unnatural state of hyper extension. Keeping it this way over the long term will cause bushings and joints to bind up and the end result may be corrosion building up in the area of normal suspension travel where don't want it instead of the unused areas where it basically doesn't matter

The corrosion part of jackstand-storage (new word?) i don´t belive, at least not in my case as it is stored warm and totaly dry. If it was jacked up in a damp barn then maybe but not in this case. I have only jacked it up as the Toyo T1/R,s are so soft they deform if it has been still for a while, it takes about ten miles of driving befor they are "ironed out" again, and that is if has been still for only a week. And as they are almost brand new i didnt want to risk it standing on them for 5-6 months. A few of any pics would be fine, as i have read yours is in very good condition as mine, and they seem to be the same colour =)
When mine has been sat for a while I pull the fuel pump relay from the fuse box and then turn the engine over for a few seconds to get oil around the engine without it firing. Probably a bit unnecessary as modern oils should cling pretty well but I don't think it hurts.
my car standed for 5 years and when i finally got to the day to start it.... fired right up no problems what so ever. and it wasn't stored in a warm garage. i did start it with a new battery thou. changed all the fluids and thats it.
