Vacuum line

I am sorry if I posted in the wrong section but I didn't find the appropriate section to post .
I have an Audi Coupe 2.0 8V ABK and today I found something that looks like a vacuum line that it seems disconnected . The hose comes from the back of the car and exits near the battery . Could someone please tell me if it's normal to be disconnected of if it should be connected somewhere ?

Thats porb the battery breather, some batteries have vents that connect to a breather exit.
If your battery has a little nipple then just use a hose and connect it up to that.
