Tuning steps for an Auto S6?

I have a 96 auto S6 2.2 Well cared for example, last owner had it 10 years and really looked after it, serviced on time, cambelt etc at Audi. Its not been modified in any way yet. I've had it since June this year and plan on keeping it a long time.
I've been advised already that homefry is not the best for me due to the autobox.
What can i do? and what comes first? What kind of money am I looking at?
I have had quite a few different cars before but never tuned/modded them.
Any advice on this welcome. Thanks guys

    Shameless self-promotion:

You can buy a chipset from me for the auto...
Which is not just a manual one flashed into the auto ECU.

If your TCU has a three row connector I can also chip the TCU. If it has a two row connector, then it's the newer unit and I can't.

TCU is like an ECU but for the transmission.
It is located right above the ECU.

You can expect 260-270hp and 400nm.

          Welcome,

I have a urS6 auto with a PRJ chip, the car is brilliant, never misses a beat and is much better for the ECU chip.

Use the autobox as if it is a DSG box, it put it into second floor it and change it into third when it suits you, and then drive.

Leave it in second, if driving around town and don't necessarily want it changing up when you figure you'll want second gear acceleration shortly. When you try it it may feel strange or awkward, but after say three weeks of daily driving you'll have got much better / more comfortable with it.

          Fit HIDs in the headlights.

Make sure the the front suspension bushes are in good order, as well as the small tie rod at the top the rear suspension, very visible with the rear wheel off. If you handbrake is not great, it may be that you need fresher rear calipers.

Read all of urS4boy posts on here and try these two links.

Put in a leather interior if the car has cloth, black would be my preference.

Black out any exterior "chrome", if the car does not have a "black pack".

Fit Mk 1 S8 rims with 15mm hubcentric spacers. 225/40/18 tyres, or bigger if they fit.

Be careful of this web site, don't make any impulse buys until you are sure.

          One thing that appeals to me is this;

Might be dear, but it bolts straight in with no hassle, compared to buying a core and making up all the other bits.

          HTH.

          Any photo ?

Depends if the ECU and TCU are socketed or not, but mostly a solder job.
You can always send the units to me of course...
