The monthly UrS reminder post from the folks at STFA.

STFA = Search the forum archives (in this case, my home forum)

(Things to know/remember to check, etc)

    1. Are your spark plugs tight?

    2. Things that will fail on your AAN (or ABY or ADU) and strand you on the side of the road

    3. Potential reasons why your AAN (or ABY or ADU) isn't starting

    4. Engine Bay Device Map (the long manual version with links to ECU info, etc)

    5. The advanced search here at the S2 Forum

From the new 2013 Management at STFA.

Sorry if I have embarrassed or otherwise phissed anyone off by posting that list, you lazy neglectful bashtards. If so, please fill in this form and send it to the appropriate forum mod for their consideration.

Lmao, I think you also need to add to your list.

Do the simple things first - check your battery terminals are clean

Oh man, now I have to get IPA out of my nostrils.

(And I did add that to the Potential Reasons why your AAN (or ABY or ADU) isn't starting: http://forums.quattroworld.com/s4s6/msgs/210191.phtml )

            0. Battery cables There is no reason to continue with this no start diagnostic until you check your battery cables. If they are dirty or loose, you won't be getting power to the parts that need it, e.g. starter. So please remove, clean and re-install your battery cable ends and retry. Also check the voltage with a multimeter touching the (+) and (-) cable ends at the battery (not the battery posts). Less than 11.5V = put the battery on charge and wait (1 to 2 hrs) before retrying. Once that step has passed, and there is still no start, then we can start the diagnostics in earnest, knowing that the battery is up to snuff and connected properly.

edit - Once you've worked out you've made a simple schoolboy error please go back to the forum and the long running thread that you've ignored all previous help and advice and have a go at the first person you come to thats trying to help you out and save you money

True. I wonder how much this forum does save people in saved garage fee's.

Probably about the same amount it costs for dummie's
