I have just been refreshing my 90Q with S2 running gear. I had the subframes and wishbones shot blasted and galved and then i painted them with por15. Iv installed solid subframe bushes and poly wishbone bushes all round. Also H/D topmounts and big brakes etc. If you are getting second hand subframes that are in good nick then blast and galv was only ÂŁ114 from Scottish galvanizers in Glasgow. Brake lines could be a good plan and also lossen up front and rear track rods and get bambridge adjusters. I think im going to get the geometry sorted then copper grease everythings and cover with self amalgamating tape to seal it all from moisture.

Im in the middle of this process i would say strip all the running gear of your chosen end (front or rear) and start from the underseal up , i didnt see much point in making the subframe look pretty and leaving whats underneth it covered in crap - its quite a long task even when you have ramp, workshop etc etc

IV got one of each had them blasted and and painted them with por15 they are like new

I can vouch for the grit as my front chassis had loads of the stuff stuck in all the places that water couldn't get to.

Iv had the car for 16 months it was from portlethen a guy called Leonard stalker-clarke had it from 2007 before that a Sheriff from Edinburgh had it from new.
