    S2 headlight washers

    Hi Guys,
Can someone tell me how to remove the headlight washer unit from the bumper?
The bumper is off and there are 2 rusted nuts on threads in the back.
I've sprayed every day for a week with penetrating oil and I can't get them to budge on the thread, the thread is turning too but doesn't look like its unscrewing. There must be a head on it inside the unit.
Does the whole unit have to come off as a piece or does it split on the outside?

You'll find a metal plate between the nuts and bumper, the nuts need to come off, then the plate slides off, then the whole washer block pulls off the bumper with the 2 studs sticking out the washer block.

The plastic washer nozzle part is a separate part, but no benefit in taking them out separately.

If you don't want to reuse the washers, grind off the bolts...if you do, then somehow you need to remove the bolts...

Edit: Eric's answer is wayyyyyy better than mine... I'll get my coat...!

      Front bumper washers.

The front washers had to come off the bumper. Unfortunately they were siezed. So I ground the nuts and replaced the studs

This is what the stud inside the washer looks like. Designed to spin I'd say.

I used these allen bolts and ground down the head so it fits into the void left by the old stud.

A pic before I wrapped the washer to close the gaps.
