It'll be close with a stock healthy S2 IMO. He has another 56bhp on you and less weight. My advice - race him in the wet
If it's from a standing start he should have the legs on you, but in gear overtaking, your superior torque should even it up
Also depends on how good he is through the bends too.
    Cheers

wet race sounds good to me, couple of years ago overtook a M coupe(321bhp) and a boxster S. Porsche pulled out to come after me and was catching up , then it came to a tight corner, even the S2(standard at time) was loosing grip, looked in the mirror and the boxster was spinning down the road, rear end smashed into a concrete crash barrier(12 inchs shorter). Best fun i think i have ever had. Driver walked away from reckage.

With Homefry, there is no doubt a 94 M3 would be beaten. Many Homefry S2's on here have lived with the 343bhp current version (overtaking through the gears).

              Definately recommended!!

Don´t know about that, when I had my 98 M3 I raced a few RS2 (Stock) from the traffic light. RS2 jumped in front of me in second gear start to close and than overtook them in mid 3rd gear ... Am I crazy ??

Run him from a standing start and launch from 4, 4.5 thou revs. U should jump 2-3 cars in front of him, he may think he's beaten and tap off - u claim win. If he pursues you he should catch and overtake u in 3rd gear but u be doing 150 - 160 km/h so claim u lifted off .....

If you do u chip and exhaust u would be away .....

RS2 UP TO 5000 rpm {at own risk} then leave the clutch and with Quattro wheelspin ,you will be ahead some little mods {380 hp} also recomended.to stay in front .

Not sure a remapped K24 S2 will beat a current M3 if driven properly on a straight road from a rolling start. Even with a standing start I would still give it to the M3. I have seen many relatively standard M3s caning high power RS4s on track especially through the twisty stuff in dry weather (both cars very well driven).

i raced a 97 m3,which has beaten a skyline and a few new m3's except the stripped out(forgot model).nearly ran into the back of him on a roundabout, had to dab the brakes, then he got the edge on me(not a lot though).but-and here come the excuses-my front brakes were sticking.had a mate sat next to me,about 5 boost leaks and minor hesitation.he was surprised to say the least.now he won't race me in the wet or standing start.

                            Lee,

My neighbour just acquired a brand new M3 CSL. That must be one of the fastest and best handling bits of kit around. Bloody wakes me up every morning with that exhaust.

But it'll be nice to give him a run for his money in an old S2.

PS: I've still got a 12R in the garage and the Akrapovic is even louder.
