Raced my first skyline today

was quite an experience, think it was a R34 model.

He was in front of me at the light with me behind, so at the green he was first on the throttle, and gained some distance, but as the S2 came into second gear i was able to maintain the same distance, not really gaining, but not falling behind, shifted into third at around 6800 RPM and gained a little, and then we ran out of runway, and the guy slowed down and turned onto a very small road with a lot of houses, so i guess he did not want to play anymore.

But he was turning his head almost 180 degrees to look at the S2, probably not used to someone tagging along.

Whats the BHP of these cars? Mine is a stock 3B

anyway, just wanted to share, dont see many cars like that where i live normally, so that was my first experience with the S2 vs another car in similar league

yeah, am aware that the 3B S2 is 220bhp, was thinking about the Skyline, that's around 280 or something i think

IMHO thats the greatest thing about the S2/RS2... My best RS2 moment was within 90 minutes of picking the car up. Cruising through some road works on the M4 at 50 approaching the national signs, saw a TT 225 coming up to go past me in the fast lane, waited till he was alongside, 3rd, lots of right foot, wait a second... bye bye mr tt. The thing that made me a very happy chappy, was the way he looked across at this old estate car with his jaw on his lap oh then he pulled in behind got really close peered down saw the badge and was still none the wiser :mischeif: Just thought i'd share that with the group and try and forget my monstrous hang-over, oh no there it is

We have dyno'ed a bone stock R34 at 284AWHP stock. No mods, no nothing. They are underrated due to the Japanese agreements and what not. They are typically 350ish hp. What kills the R34 is its weight...at a hair over 3400lbs its not very light. I guess thats about the same as an S2. I would have thought though that the Skyline would have pulled, as most stock S2's are pulling 5.0-5.7 sec stock times, and the slowest GT-R I have been in was was about a 4.6 to 100km/h.

Now if it was a GTS or a GTS-T that would be completely different. They are usually a lower 280hp and aren't very fast.

Skylines have more torque than stock 3B / ABY.

Well Ive been in a 600HP R34, definitely stay clear of those with the S2 or RS2.

Awesome cars and strong engines. The parts for this modification cost about 30000GBP

The stock R34's are actually 270 Bhp,
Were as the V-Spec editions are way above 300,

When tuned these cares are insane.

Altho they way almost as much as a tank.

I watched a Video of the main Nismo tuner in Japan, doing 0 - 222MPH in under 20 seconds

That skyline was one of a kind and not road legal in the slightest.

Cant believe the Shape change in the R35 though, just doesn't cut the mustard-

However they are replacing the 2.6 Twin Turbo V6 with:

a 32 valve dohc 4.5L! V8 (imagine how much power could be sucked out of that!!)

Rumours also say that a 3.5L V6 Twin turbo option will be available.
