    Coming Soon : S2 Saloon

    Hi all

Time to come out of the shadows and put a post on i think.
My car is with Tim @ QRSport at the moment and should be complete soon.
(providing the few parts im still searching for can be found!)
It will be a daily driver so cant go to mad with it yet.

Its an 80 Saloon ABY (originally V6):

    -RS2 spec
    -Full silicone water kit
    -Uprated clutch
    -B&M short shift
    -RH wheels
-To be finished with a remap

Not sure of any other conversions like this. Does anyone know of any?
Well anyway, i know there's the original S2 limo but thats LHD, so i'll be 'representin' UK style!
    not Limo
    not Sedan
    Salooooooooon!

      Hi Mark... Sadiq here

I know Russ and Ammer have the 90s and they're fantastic, but i meant the B4 shape and style.
There is one i've heard about, and it used only the shell otherwise it was FULL S2, but don't know any further than that.

I love the S2 saloon - beats me why Audi never bothered importing them here (or did they... ).

I even toyed with the idea of getting one in from the contninent and converting it to a right-hooker. I mean, there can't be that much involved, right? Well, a good winter project's worth...

            Opinions?

Dont know how involving a LHD >> RHD conversion would be

I thought sourcing a mint B4 saloon from UK would be straight forward enough.
However all UK quattro's are V6s and therefore it required engine mounts welded into different areas.
Its been a few months, but the only reason its taken this long is cuz i needed a hub conversion aswell (for my wheels). Sourcing them has been quite testing... still on the look out for front 3B hubs... so please let me know if anyone has any available

Can't help on the hubs - sorry!

I knew a guy who converted an old Porker 356 to RHD. Cost him £10K mind, through some VAG-indie in Canterbury - but it was the dogs danglies when finished - right down to having custom-built headlamps, wing mirrors and even wipers swapped over.

But fair play to you on taking on this project! I hope it turns out as well as you hope. An RS2 saloon?

Why not leave it LHD? I drive both LHD / RHD on a regular basis in different countries, doesn't make any difference.

Not easy converting older cars like B4 from LHD to RHD - it involves replacing the complete top half of the firewall, otherwise you'll have no glovebox and your heater will be extremely rudimentary.

Newer cars like current A4, A6, TT, A8, MkIV Golf, Passat etc are easy to convert, as there is no welding involved. The shells are the same, just the fibreglass firewall needs changing - it's mastic'd and bolted in place.
