hi guys ... went to get some parts from vw.. it proved very difficult to bring the parts up

what im after is the following part numbers:

rear diff mount bushes x3
gearbox mount bushes x2)
propshaft bearing that holds prop to car midway

possibly the snub mount (no idea what or where this is)

any help would be gratefully apprieciated

ps: do i need to take gearbox out to replace bushes?

Have you got the details of your car. I assume you mean for your S2.

Centre bearing isn't available from VAG but there is a BMW one that fits.

For 7A/3B/ABY Coupe they are,

895 599 125 Rear Diff Mount
857 599 431 Left and Right Diff Mount
431 399 151 D Gearbox (Left and Right)
8A0 399 151 D 6Speed Gearbox (Left and Right)
811 199 339 B Snub Mount Bushing

The rear diff mount is the complete unit and pricey, alloy casting with the bushing in place. A cheaper alternative is the vw bushing and press it in yourself, or one of the poly bushing kits.

Gearbox mounts and diff mounts looked identical to me, only difference is was the two gearbox ones were painted green. Maybe there firmer than the black ones 6Speed part number i think only differs in chassis designation, i think there the same.

Never seen a shub mount wear, have you checked the mounts adjustment?

oh and have no idea what a snub mount is...

dont think so, just support the box i'd guess while you change each mount out

i got my bushes from vag parts. Greate thing with vag parts is you dont have to quote any part numbers. All you need to say is aby or s3, coupe or avant, and what u want

its in a previous thread about propshaft overhaul
