    1/4 mile time

so i decided to give my car a wee little blast down the 1/4 mile at santa pod last weekend and well i did a 14. 15 seconds which aint to good and well you know how it is was just going to watch and well then the temptation grew and 7 runs later that was my best. My question to you is what do you recon my power output is and what does a s2 normaly do ,. there was a 33 mile wind coming down the track (head on) and well my boot was still full of boom box e.t.c big boot avant..
so i think i may have another go soon g.t.i inter maybe so do you all think it would be wise to strip all the insides out e.t.c also i was doin 92 miles an hour over the line so what is the extra precations you have to take if you reach over 100 before the end.. an im pretty sure ive a boost leek problem but my hoses are on order an i just hope i get them soon..

not wanting encourage street racing but a colleague of mine at a previous company had a little gagdet that you stuck to the windscreen and power from the cigarette litter socket it will then give you a 0-60 time and a quarter mile time.

You will all be pleased to know that the my S2 was 2nd on the 0-60 list (the number was a non legal racing car) with a time of 6.05s, beating honda civic type by over a second a few others that I can't remember but various "hot hatches"

My best with standard turbo ,chip and exhaust was 13.8 and that was on a day that the temprature was about 36deg celsius.
Speed over the trap was 161 km/h.

Markarina talks about a G tech or similar device. Uses gravitational forces to determine
      times.

alot of it depends on how brutal you are on the start and how well you time the gear changes. 14.15 is pretty good for a standard car though

IIRC 13,8sec and that was by dipping the clutch at 5000rpm... Quite scary the first time

A couple of years ago at GTI international I got a 14.3 or 14.7 cant remember which. I wasnt being brutal on the start to get the best take off and I later found I had a fairly major boost leak on the throttle body hose too.

                  black one

erm yes mine was the black one with tints think i am going to have to strip my car down for gti though looking at the amount of weight in it speakers amps eletric seats etc there must be half a second with removing it all.. vowed id never do a drag strip but i think its going to get addictive wonder if my times would have changed if i had smaller wheels on also....

@ PIX - see if you can get your hands on a Gtech pro, I have used on in the past and they are easy to set up and use, just need the overall weight of your car in LB and it will do the rest. Quite fun trying to see how many G you can pull out of the bag in the corners too
