Lol I remember getting involved in the thrash to finish the R8C and doing the tail light mountings (those lights can also be seen on the back of big trucks!) ...I also remember that they never did make the mirror mountings how I designed them!
BTW if it stank of fuel sorry but the tank was one of mine as well. So was the mechanical gearshift (which the Ricardo boxes never liked - feeble things!)

Mmm, that's what we got paid to do! Small is beautiful, but TBH the Bentleys we later did were much better and slightly smaller too. Partly because this car has bodywork covering the chassis where the Bentleys have the chassis licked by the airstream. This car also has a steel rollover structure and the Speed 8 cars had all CFRP rollover structure doubling as the roof.Originally posted by pixsaudisex2
The R8C was also built in double quick time and very little development time was left to make the car work to it's full potential. The silver machines were done in about six months from almost nothing. Compare that to the green cars which had ages to be made into the race winners they ultimately became.
