Just wondering but is it legal to have German EU plate on a british registered car

or is it just an invitation to get pulled over by plod more often ?

I had the german style plates on my Passat (with 18"s and dual LOUD exhaust) for over a year and was never stopped. That included regular M1 and A1 driving too.

I could of course just been lucky, last time I was pulled was going through a series of bends a little too enthusiastically in an Alfa 146 (with standard plates BTW - purely down to the style of driving... Not speeding, just got a caution :mischeif: )

I like the door builds. Are they custom jobbies?

They are technically naughty, but my view is that because they are clearly legible only the most pedantic / bored / frustrated copper is going to bother pulling anyone with a german style plate.

Most would probably assume it's a german car anyway unless their attention was drawn to the car for another reason. :mischeif:

I'm sure they'd be more interested if the plate was hard to read or spaced in a way as to suggest different characters (naming no names ).

Got nicked for running a white plate on the back (30 quid on the spot), but as long as the back plate is yellow , German style plates should be fine.

My friend got a on the spot because his winch takes up all the room on the front bumper and his plates on the bonnet.
