When you say dump valve i hope you don't mean one that dumps to atmosphere as it's a no no on the S2.

Best replacements are the Forge 006 / 007 then there's a variety of choices from Baileys, Hyperboost valve.

Shop around as they do vary in price from £40 to £150 !! crazy

Keep it standard and just get a cone filter instead of the airbox. This will give you more noise that you want.

The air is 'metered' in the S2, so all the air that goes in, must be present all the time, otherwise it thinks you have a boost leak.

You can get cones from all manner of places - the key is to find one with a large internal volume, and an 80mm (or is it 82mm? someone will correct me) diameter neck. Best to avoid oiled filters as these tend to deposit oil film all over the MAF, which then can't correctly measure the air flow coming in to the turbo. I think the most highly regarded one is an ITG? foam one (is that right)?

Also key is to make sure that the cone is well shielded from the heat of the turbo otherwise you'll suffer poor performance from sucking in hot air from the engine bay, which is not ideal.

A cone on the S2 does make a lot of noise, both on induction (you certainly get a lot of "suck" noises, plus you can hear the turbo itself spooling up very easily), and on throttle lift off (when you'll get a snorty sort of chattering sound). You'll certainly make plenty of noise!

Views are mixed as to whether you get a performance benefit from a cone on these cars or not, especially with the heat soak consideration, but they do have the benefit of taking up less room in the engine bay which is useful when it comes to doing any work on that side of the motor!

i ran an atmospheric dump valve and i know a couple of other people who do, no problems what so ever!!!

how many of you which condem dump valves have actually tried one?

if someone wants to fit one i dont think they should be discuraged by a "myth"

this subject really nobs me off as everyone keeps going on about it and IMHO it is a load of s.h.i.t.e

I did in my old car, which ran a similar ecu setup and yes it did make a difference, end of the day were not saying dont do it your engine will explode, were saying dont do it as this could be the results.

If you want a pssst on gear change, then install away

you need to move the MAF, which involves a different intake and throttle body position

so please will .... could you elaborate .... I luv ur car and the what u are doin with it

I mean am I asking in the right place? If not does anyone know who to contact for professional advice.... because I have spent a wodge of money on a brand spanking forge recirculating
