Why the difference of opinion here?
Middlesborough is a bit far for me though...

I would imagine it's because different people have had different experiences with different tuners/garages. I suspect very few people have tried all of them!

Personally my vote goes for QSTuning based on my experience of them which has been nothing but positive. Others - as goes for most garages/pubs/clubs/banks/etc - may have had different experiences.

I haven't tried AutoMark (too far for me), and MRC didn't have premises when I was getting my car seen to so I haven't tried them - but based on the good reports may do so at some point in the future.

      Ck.
Shocked, exhausted, hosed, bushed, dumped, chipped, mounted, filtered, gauged, packed, intermittantly wiped and braked. I mean broken. Now, about the car...

        Kim Collins at QST?

Each to their own, IMO and from dealings with QST they don't know anything about an S2 apart from whats in the MTM book.

Highlighted at Castle Combe a couple of years ago when i asked them how much for a Milltek exhaust and they said Milltek don't make S2 exhaust, i promptly went to the next stand grabbed a Milltek catalogue and pointed out the S2 Coupe exhaust listing.

        Muppets

I mean they want you to spend 5-10k to get 370-380 bhp out an RS2 when it can be done chipped, yet they claim this isn't possible.

If you want to know about QST ask AAH about the "mod" they put on his car because they misaligned the cams couldn't get it to boost so made it boost manually.

...fraid I am with Jamo on that...i spent a lot of money there in the first 18months of ownership before deciding that i was possibly being taken for a ride...
If you are happy to just hand over money no questions then I think you'll be fine but i used to get on a plane after leaving my car there when travelling to Finland and almost without exception would have a voicemail telling me about the list of other things which needed sorting out and the quotes i received for doing them were nothing like what i ended up having to pay. Those experiences are the reason i have a garage full of tools

Kim knows his stuff when it comes to Audi's there is no denying that, however be prepared to pay handsomely for it and don't pick holes in anything you get back either as the interest to resolve an issue is in my experience 'peaky' to say the least.

I'd go for MRC... though judging by the red S2 lapping at CC last weekend and Aelred's knowledge on all things Audi, Mark would seem like a good candiadate too.

Also ask Pickey about the near court case he had against QST for wrecking his RS4

I think that this thread does not want to go down the road of a slagging/slating route.

I am sure there are many people whos cars have been fukced up by many a person. There a few that I know of anyhow.......

                  Hi Nip
If you have Battys S2 it has already been chipped by S2 central so should be around 280bhp

Just trying to save you some cash , if you already know then I have wasted my time

                    Agreed,

But it would be nice for others to go in with their eyes open. I can't see anything wrong with constructive critisism and stating facts.

                    Cheers,

Ok. My Audi's have only ever been to either Quattrosports/QST, a local (less than a mile away) Porsche mechanic, or AMD ( remap/exhaust)

The Porsche guy is absolutely spot on

QST - the car has always had what it needed to,everything has always been fixed to my complete satisfaction. Only complaint if any is that the bills can sometimes be expensive. In relation to other Audi independants I can't comment as I have never been anywhere else.

AMD was purely more "bangs for buck"

Oh and been to Siena once to sort out a non boosting issue . Car was fixed 2 days before Xmas. I still remember that dual carriageway when the car ran sweet

As mentioned above it is all about personal exeriences.
I have been using Mark of Automark for the last 6 years or so and I cannot fault the guy, he is well informed, has all the right kit, does not give the customer ********* or try to confuse him with rocket science like some tuners do, so from my experience as I have had good loyal service from him I stick with him and all my customers that have gone to him sing his praises.

I am sure there are honest and professional tuners (probably only a few) out there but I have not given them the chance.
