    Turbo technics quattro

Anyone using the Audifans site may have seen this thread already, but for those who havent....

I ve recently bought a tired coupe quattro with a turbo technics turbo kit on the kv engine.
This is an early series 3 quattro at f reg.
I m after any info regarding engine spec etc so I can get it back to health.
Am not expecting power like my aby engined series 2 quattro, just thought this one was a bit different and might be fun if we have any snow-i ve spent too much on the other to be a pretend rally driver for a while yet.
Any one any knowledge on numbers of these conversions produced/engine/car spec etc could you please mail it to me at
    audicoupeparts@hotmail.com

I ll post a few pics when i can get to it in daylight!
    Cheers
    Dave

if its anything like the turbo technics kit that i had on a Mk2 XR2 absolutely nothing was done to engine it was just a bolt on kit that used standard engine internals. it was just designed to give to give a mild bit of boost think was about 7psi .and there was an annoying fuel cut off that played up when u tried to wind the actuator out

Baldy, you are quite correct they have no internal mods at all and if I remember correctly they didn't do anything to the metering head either, they just relyed on the extra air adding the extra fuel on the Kjet but beyond 4krpm they would usually run a bit lean.
Nice to see (not) the open to air dump valve which will be helping the metering head no end (Audi engines of this era are designed to be air tight), how does it idle?
Fitting the engine from a 100 turbo (MC) would've been better as you could use the metering head and ecu also etc.

peter and bruce at camco88 in warrington were most helpful when i was trying to find out about my conversion as they were turbo technics agents and peter used to work for garrett who made the T3 turbo it used

whilst i'm on a trip down memory lane .it also had a Micro dynamics EMS 5 ignition retard module and a 5th injector programmable injector to increase fueling which had a row of potentiometers so that you could set fuel in relation revs.

                idle

Idle! Its about 2 grand when cold!
TT emailed me back and said it was a t25 turbo
pistons have been worked on to alter compression ratio
only runs 1/2 bar of boost so it wont be making big figures.
me thinks i ll remove engine and give the bits to me dad for his coupe quattro-he ll like the sound and just manage the power as he is 70 next week.
I ve found a company in the states that can do a bell housing conversion to run a small block chevy v8 for reasonable money, but me thinks the rad will have to live in the boot or on the roof-watch this space!
Either that or i ll break it for spares if any interest
Ta for the comments and help guys
