          Brakes and bent body panels?
          Mainly brakes though.

RS2 specific parts cost more, more bhp more wear and tear on brakes, tyres rotating engine parts etc etc.

Good point... but think how much you'll save not having to mod it with RS2 parts

If you use a garage to do any work/servicing etc then yes it can cost a lot, but do it yourself and you'll save a packet

I'm sorry but I resent that, we have very favourable rates for those that are lethal with a spanner

if you finish buying all parts that will need replacement, then running costs wont be much.I figure 10K kms per year need once or twice oil change

I got my RS2 15 months ago and apart from replacing the cambelt on time it hasn't cost me a great deal (famous last words!! ). I did replace the front brakes but that was only because I wanted to. Without these two things I would have replaced pads and oil, I had heard all of the scare stories about running one too but hey you only live once! Apart from the brake upgrade I have only spent £300 in real terms on maintenance not including the £300 for the cambelt etc. I must admit I am lucky as this bald bloke about 2 miles away in Lincoln looks after my car, seems to know what he's doing, runs a company called quatt something
You might leave the S2 fold every so often - but you'll always come back!

I mean for someone who is able to do a head gasket change for instance or some other major task by themselves, they will save quite a lot in the long run.
