Remove Sun roof from S2 avant

With the headlining removed can you just remove the inset roof panel, the piece that has the heading cover fitted. Thanks

If you slide the roof back half way on the front edge of the insert should be two screws, undo these and it should separate. If you need to get the whole insert out then set the roof to tilt and you'll be able to access the 6 bolts that hold the insert to the mechanism.

Big thanks for your response, that gave me some incentive to see if I could remove the insert. After a little while the part I needed to remove simply unclipped at the front edge and with the roof in its tilt position it slowly came forward and out.
the part being the inner roof that is covered with head lining material.
