    My '91 Avant

Hello Folks, I have acquired a Pearl White 1991 200 20V Turbo Avant. 220k+ miles. I had one in Back Panther Metallic years ago. I had to get one again. Mid life crisis? Maybe...

Wife and I were at the Loe Show during delivery. Mother-in-law signed for it. Two friends came a picked it up for me.

This avant started in Washington then to Colorado, New Jersy, Connecticut, and now Ohio.

I had a spare 3b ecu and have outfitted it with an RR boost chip and an S2 fuel/ign chip. Plan is to get to a 3071.... after some maintenence items.

I have ordered new UFO Febi pads from England. Rear rotor and pads ordered. Needs front wheel bearings... I may move to a modern caliper setup. Gonna ride out what I have till one more local car show... then collect parts for the winter.

So here is an 18z caliper and S5 345mm rotor mocked up. I couldn't get the top of the caliper to set further in as the upper UFO mounting ear needs cut off to fit properly.... if I go this route. Spitballing with parts already on hand.

What a smashing car, I love a C3 quattro with a factory fit 3B lump, pity we never got them in the UK, the best we got was a 10V turbo one of which I've owned briefly. What's it like underneath having been up north for most of it's life and are those lovely rim's OE fit BBS?

I'm rather envious of your complete C3 Bently manual collection, I've got them for most of my cars but couldn't quite justify purchasing the the three required for a C4, wish they'd just made one big book instead.

I'll admit it's my 2nd set now. I could look into digitizing a set.... The avant has a clean underside.

I did discover there are decals of the Audi logo on the wheels... kinda afraid to peel them to see the originals... Even the 2010 tires are still good no cracks.

I am torn on the brakes/wheels. I really like the OEM setup, but soon as I do anything... I did buy a new set of wheels as the Audi was being delivered... a set for me and a set for the wifes wagon.

That looks amazing underneath for a C3 that's seen salty roads, the previous owners must have taken a lot of care of the car.

What your plan for the 3071, rods a custom exhaust and remap or aftermarket ECU? I always bang on about this but I'd probably go for a tricked out K26/7 with a modern turbine/shaft and billet compressor wheel, bolts straight on and can be made to look OE, no oil feed restrictor required and utterly bomb proof. Though this really is a matter of personal choice.

I'd be torn about the wheels as well, I really like those BBS rims and they suit the car a treat, however they're not going to accommodate decent size brake's.

Did a little towing. Moved the fleet to a new home. Only the 10v wouldn't start.
