Finally got me an S2!!!!

Hi Guys
Finally got me self an S2 ABY model.
Bought it from Alan in Blackpool in Saturday 16th June 07. Bright red with FSH. Done 140k but drives well. Body work is in very good condition. Totally standard 230 bhp.
Have been waiting over 12 years to get one. My good lady finally gave in and agreed to buying it.
BMW has to go though.
Looking forward to many happy miles and smiles driving it.

I have a hunch that if you stick around on this brilliant forum, your newly acquired S2 won't stay stock very long...

ErikB is selling a Porsche brakes upgrade kit. They don't come around that often so if you can snatch it... Honest, even with stock power, the brakes on an S2 are really poor when used hard and the conversion is easily done.

My .02 cents of advice. Safety first.

I have booked it in for an inspection on 6th july with a guy called Derek Dunlop in Ayr. He was recommended to me by a mutual friend as Derek specialises in S2 mechanics, etc. My S2 was serviced in April 07 so not too worried.
Who do you use to do your servicing, repairs, etc.

Dennis Dunlop is very very well respected in the VW Aircooled circles (of which I frequent as well) and gets nothing but a good name. Unlike some of the Glasgow Garages.

I have no experience of him with S2's, but he mainly operates on his well earned good reputation, so I would have no issues leaving the car with him.
