Well the car was in to get the new samco water hoses and rad fitted, and I asked them to have good look round the car in ready for the MOT in october ..... beginning to wish I hadn't here's the list......
2 new rear brake calipers
AC compressor
secondary water pump
2 new rollbar links
expansion tank
guess the bank balance is going to get hit pretty hard

Depends how much you "trust" the garage. Some places are always out to make a fast buck.
Likes of Corey, MRC and others in the audi circle are always going to be number 1's to trust and take in there advice.
Ask the question why and if they can come up with good reasons then ok.
My rear calipers were a bit shakey but after a good clean up all was well
I trust the garage independent specialist, one rear calliper is seized, pragmatism says do both at the same time.
AC compressor is £300, quicklook on ECP says brake callipers are £90 each, the secondary water pump is the one I am wary of (8a0121403) betting that is going to be stealer only .
I have just replaced a rear brake caliper on my s2 avant. Couldn't get any from ECP or GSF but my local motor factors got me one. Same as any audi 80 quattro. I paid £71 for it.
