hi all ,recently got the rally car on the road ,running in new engine ,seems sweet, revs very nicely[ no power steering or alternator running off engine] also fitted dsy 6sp box with stasis center diff and v8 torson rear diff [not to sure about noises it makes at low speed/seems like a locked diff ?] any way I am side tracking, took a mate out in the car ,he seemed impressed . later that day we had a little test lets call it [on private land] ,he has this evo 8 fq 330 which does not hang around only 20k on the clock, 0-60 quoted at 4 secs ! I know my car has a weight advantage appox 1180kg and an estimated 3-350 bhp on the resricter 34mm well I was with him all the way from a standing start,and a 2nd gear flyby, bye bye evo. I caught a glimps of my speedo at 120-125 mph [needle wobbles abit] when we parked up he jumped out and said how fast do you think you were going round that bend ,try 140 + he said with a big grin . the next day he popped round with his brother who also wanted a ride which I declined explaning, have you forgot i am still running it in :
My mate phoned me last night ,guess what he said ! youve got caught speeding ,no stuck it in a ditch, no a bloody ******** in a transit van not using his mirrors reversed straight into the frount of the car damageing the bonnet and bumper beaten by a quattro on saturday then bashed by a ford on monday I wonder whats the 3rd knock back for the poor not so little evo
