    Floods

Just been watching the news and found it mildly entertaining to see all the cars floating around - until i thought of my car being under 5ft of water

Which led me to think - have we lost any S2's to these latest floods!?

Not lost mt S2 (yet). but 2 years ago I lost my old Nissan 300ZX to the waters...

First picture on opening the door...

second picture after removing some interior, this is the ECU area....

I did get it running again, but really was never the same, water had entered the auto transmission through a breather, also the fusebox was below water level, basically everything filled up with very very fine mud....
Still, my wifes uncle lost his house, we stood around and watched it fall into the river, nothing we could do..... Had recovered as many things as we could before it went, but was the worst thing I have ever seen.....
Honda CBR 1100XX Blackbird Turbo....undergoing major changes.....
S2 Coupe... bit easier off the line...
'03 ZX12-R daily hack.... lots of nice bolt ons...

Really feel for those people who this has effected, not forgetting the ones in and around Hull and Sheffield last month.
I'm very close to the river wear, but it'd have to rise 200ft before it would affect me. It's rained bad here, but we seem to have missed the worst thankfully.

Must be soul destroying seeing all the stuff you've worked your butt off for, all gone

Its been quite bad down in some areas of swindon with railway lines being moved by rain etc luckily where my s2 is parked its ok but i've already heard of a few people who have lost stuff etc. Plus honda plc where I used to work was flooded on friday and had to shut half there plant down, the car park was flooded up to the windows on the cars. That would have been mine if I was still there on lates.

Well i'm in Gloucester and i almost lost my S2 to some tw8t in a 4x4 thinking it would be fun going through floods at 30mph

Driving fback rom my brothers house in chipping camden on sat morning, most of the 4-6' flood water had gone by then but there were still deep floods about.
Luckily i saw this knobhead coming from quite far away and dived over to the other side of the road and mounted a visable kerb/verge so my air intake/drivers headlight was higher up than the passenger side.
The bow wave he created completley covered my car but luckily no water entered my airbox/engine or inside.

Damn good water tight boats these S2's

People need to live somewhere and Britain's overcrowded as far as I can tell... There just isn't enough "safe" land to build on anymore...

Britain is far from overcrowded. Ok, it isn't as sparsely populated as Australia but there is still plenty of room.
Don't forget, before the USA was a twinkle in Chris Columbus' eye, Britains industry, trade and transport was by river, that is why people live on rivers and that is why flood damage ocurs.
Plus, this is also a freak occurance due to global warming caused by the sort of people that drive around in 5l SUVs for no other reason than they are too fat to get into a sedan (mentioning no names)!

Not those of us driving around in 4 wheel drive, noisy and un-economical guzzlers then?

Without starting a big arguement or something, I think its about time the government gets all the illegal immigrants kicked out once and for all rather than wasting our tax paying money on them. Then there would be more space for people who are actually legally british.

sorry if thats a bit harsh but just my 00.2 $
