initially i felt a bit sick with jealously to be honest (especially given what I paid for mine with the back smashed in in january) but it seems to be with someone with a genuine interest so good luck mate. Just means you can forgive yourself for spending a lot more on it. hehe

well i will be doing my cluutch myself and be doing the timing belt etc at the same time as the cars been off the road for 6 months.i bought the car from a guy of one of my local websites for the little sum of £450 becuse it needed a clutch,mot,tax but had a good look over it and the only things it needs for an mot is 2 brake pipes at the rear and discs and pads on the rear(callipers are still free which is nice)

seems to be a friendly forum anyway so hopefully will get to meet a few of you guys at meets etc.Im from rosyth btw

I will be doing the timing belt on mine soon ..have stripped done all this before so pretty easy but the only thing you need is locking tool for the crank pulley.... bolt is mega tight!! hopefully should get it in the next week or 2 from GreenM3 so if you want could give a shot to you when i have it .......

Where abouts in Fife?, and where are you plannning on getting work done/servicing? I can't seem to find anyone I trust - so much so I was gonna book mine into MRC in Banbury one weekend.

Holy sweet jaysus and mother of expletives... I'm reckoning to spend about £450 on an RS2 EM, and this guy buys a whole decent looking S2. Man that is bananas... How to make yourself unpopular round here or what ? Heheh only kidding - that is sale of the century alright - well done you. Good luck getting it back on the road. You have a whole weekend of work with the clucth and timing belt work ahead of you.

Steve - no probs about the disc.. there's been a link here to an on-line parts database which was helpful.

Yeah.. needing full service, but also temp gauge isn't working, turbo after-run pump has been bypassed, so missing and needing replaced... erm - I'm getting intermittent boost problems - don't think it's the hoses.. although I really need them replaced also. I'm thinking it could be a sticky wastegate spring, or the WGFV.. fack knows. Really need it diagnosed. What ye doin Thursday night?

Service is easy ,temp sender not a problem either,after-run pump should not be to bad either as long as the wiring has not been chopped and the relay is still in place..could have a look over the car and see if we can find boost problem i have vag.com so can do a scan and see what it brings up ...This week is a no no but have couple of free nights next week if you want
