Is your grill painted black, or did you buy it with a black surround? I'm getting tired of sandblasting and painting the one on the rally car, would love to just buy a grill that hasn't been chromed.

Yes, modified a broken standard bumper....
Black grille surrounds are available I think from VagParts (I think) although I painted mine...
good primer and 2 pack paint is important, and 3 coats of 2 pack lacquer too, it hasn't chipped yet, and has been a year or so....
finally fitted some grille material, is aluminium grille... didnt really want to fit it, but it does improve the looks, even if it spoils the air flow a bit....
Still, I am well shy of 300 BHP, so it still works ok.....!
