Does anyone know the history of my car?

    Hi,

I bought my S2 Avant from Gavs20v about two years ago but I know very little about it. I think that it may have been "Homefried" but I don't know for sure. Does anyone remember carrying out the work. Gavs and the car lived in in the Bromley area if that helps.

Here's a picture, it's the S2 at the top of the Audi Club site.

Is anyone still in contact with Gavs20v? He's not been seen here for ages.

Any info about the car will be gratefully received.

Send me a PM with the cars VIN number - I'll know if the ECU has been thru me !

Name sounds familiar right enough - but cant be sure right now.

I had a drive of this S2 the other day (thank you)

It pulls very strong, it would be surprising if it has not been chipped.

A turbocharged car of course will always have boost pressure is a by-product of the combustion, but how do you tell the difference with say only 30-40bhp? when you have only driven one S2?

What he means is that he suspects its modified... If you haven't got another one to compare with, or a boost guage installed, then its not so easy... Not everyone has a calibrated 'buttdyno' that can tell you a car is pulling (say) 380 or 430Nm !

Checked my records and its not my work here. Somebody might have just stuck a stupid big spring in the wastegate !

Yup, James has a good memory
                It's certainly not homefried.

Digitec chuck em and get a proper set, be it homefries, MRC etc etc.

(yes, I have tried them, and they were crap.)

Sure, the waste-gate screw seems to have been turned in a bit. Does this indicate that it's been changed? I think I'll bite the bullet and send the ECU off to Paul to get it fried properly.

                      Al,

Did you find anything specific relating to having had the car chipped? I managed to find the post advertising the car and most of the silly bits (in my opinion) have been replaced with standard parts. ie, suspension, ball-joints and sub-frame bushes.

                      Pete
